Terms of Service

Last updated: February 2026

These are the terms for using The Ick App. By using the app, you're agreeing to these terms. If something here doesn't work for you, don't use the app. Fair enough?

We tried to write this in a way that makes sense. But at its core, this is still a legal document that protects both you and us.

Quick summary: Use the app responsibly. Don't break laws. We're not responsible if you find out something you didn't want to know. And please be 13 or older.

What The Ick Does

The Ick shows you who public Instagram profiles recently followed. You pick a username, we show you their recent follows. You can turn on notifications to get pinged when they follow someone new.

That's the service. Nothing more, nothing less.

We can only show you information from public profiles. Private accounts are off-limits, and we don't try to access them.

Who Can Use This

You need to be at least 13 years old. If you're under 18, you should have your parent's okay to use apps like this. We're not going to check – that's on you and your family.

You need a working email to create an account. Don't use someone else's email. That's weird and probably illegal.

Your Account

Keep your login info secure. If someone gets into your account because you shared your password or left it on a sticky note, that's not our fault.

One account per person. Don't make a bunch of accounts to get around limits.

If we think you're misusing the app, we can suspend or delete your account. We'll try to reach out first unless it's something serious.

How You Can Use The Ick

Normal usage looks like:

Not okay:

The Information We Show

Here's something important: we show you publicly available information from Instagram. We don't guarantee it's 100% accurate or complete. Sometimes there are delays. Sometimes Instagram changes something and we need to adjust.

If you make decisions based on what you see in the app, that's on you. Found out your partner followed someone suspicious at 2am? We just showed you the data. What you do with it is your call.

Payments and Subscriptions

Some features require a paid subscription. Pricing is shown in the app. Payments go through the App Store or Google Play – we don't handle your card directly.

Subscriptions auto-renew unless you cancel. Cancel before the renewal date if you want to stop. Refunds follow whatever Apple or Google's policy is for your region.

We might change prices. If we do, you'll be notified and it won't affect your current billing period.

What We Own

The Ick app – the design, the code, the brand, this website – that's ours. Using the app doesn't give you ownership of any of it.

The data about who follows who on Instagram? That's public information. We don't own it, Instagram doesn't own the follow relationships themselves. We just organize and display it.

Limitation of Liability

We provide the app "as is." We try to keep it working smoothly, but things break sometimes. We're not liable for:

If you're in a place where we can't limit liability this way, the limit is whatever we're legally required to offer.

Indemnification

If you misuse the app and someone sues us because of it, you're responsible for that. Don't get us in trouble because you did something dumb.

Changes to the Service

We can change, update, or discontinue features. We'll try to give notice for big changes. But Instagram could make a change tomorrow that affects how everything works, and we'd have to adapt.

Changes to These Terms

We might update these terms. When we do, we'll change the date at the top. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms. If there's a major change, we'll try to let you know directly.

Termination

You can stop using the app anytime. Delete your account in the settings or email us.

We can terminate accounts that violate these terms or for any other reason with notice.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by applicable law based on your location. If there's a dispute, we'll try to work it out directly first. Legal action is a last resort for everyone.
